Day1,Arrive in Shanghai, Birding in Nanhui

 

Mugimaki Flycatcher.jpgArrive in Shanghai, Meet with ourlocal guide and driver, then drive to Nanhui.Nanhui conserves the best reedbeds as  well as mudflats, we can easily find Reed Parrotbill and JapaneseSwamp Warbler(Marsh Grassbird),it is also a very good place for migrants, weshall see many Flycatchers and Warblers, Dark-sided, Asian Brown,Blue-and-white, Narcissus, Yellow-rumped and Mugimaki Flycatchers, Pallas’sLeaf Warbler,                 MugimakiFlycatcher             

Yellow-browed,Arctic, Pale-legged and Eastern Crowned Warblers. Night in Nanhui..

 

Day2, Nanhui to Rudong, Birding in Rudong

Day 4 Rudong to Wuyuan via Shanghai

 

Birding inthe morning, then we drive back to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, take theHigh-speed Train to Wuyuan, Night in Wuyuan.

Wuyuan isa very beautiful country area in Jiangxi province, the forest coverage herereached to 85 %, and it is home to 370 bird species, There are many ancient villagesscattered around the area, some rare birds have also found their home in thetrees nearby the villages, the Courtois’s Laughingthush (Blue-crownedLaughthingthrush in Chinese)is the

rarest inthe area, the total number of this species is estimated only around 200. Wewill spend some time with them on a small island near a village. another goodbird we could see here is Pied Falconet, they are widely spread the whole southChina, but not easy to see in some other places. they other birds we are hereto look for include Mandarin Duck, Chinese Bamboo-Partridge, Black Baza,Chinese Sparrowhawk, Long-billed Plover, Large Hawk-cuckoo, Indian Cuckoo,Crested Kingfisher, Grey-capped Pygmy Woodpecker, White-throated Needletail,Swinhoe’s and Grey-chinned Minivets, Brown-breasted, Chinese and ChestnutBulbuls, Dollarbird, Black-winged Cuckooshrike, Dusky and Grey-cheekedFulvettas, Collared Finchbill, White-crowned Forktail, Chinese Hwamei,White-browed, Masked and Moustached Laughingthrushes, Rufous-faced Warbler,Black-throated Bushtit, Short-tailed Parrotbill, Grey Treepie, Black-collaredand Red-billed Starlings. Day 7 Wuyuan to Emeifeng

 

After someearly morning time in Wuyuan, we will move on for a 6 hours drive to Emeifeng,if our time is still ok, we will  in search of the Elliot's Pheasant forthe rest of the afternoon. night at Emeifeng.

 

Day 8-9 Birding at Emeifeng

Day 10 Emeifeng to Fuzhou

 

We spendthe early hours in Emeifeng to look for the birds we might still missing, thendrive 5 hours to Fuzhou, Over night in Fuzhou.

 

Day 11-12 Birding at Fuzhou National ForestPark( the Botanical Garden) or Mingjiang Estuary

 

Fuzhou isthe capital city of Fujian province, is one of the most important harbor cityin Eastern China, yet the local government has built up a small nature reservein the local Mingjiang Estuary to protect one of the rarest bird in the world:Chinese Crested Tern, we will take a boat to get on a small island to see them.most of the time, they mixflock with Greater Crested Tern, but looks much palerfrom wing and body color. other birds we might see here are White-faced Plover,Kentish Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Chinese Egret, Black-faced Spoonbill,Great Knot and Broad-billed Sandpiper, Spot-billed Duck, Yellow Bittern, Yellow -bellied Prinia, Oriental Reed Warbler, ZittingCisticola, Plain Prinia, Vinous-throated Parrotbill, Japanese White-eye,Crested Myna, Red-billed, White-cheeked

Starlings,White-shouldered Starling. We will also visit the Fuzhou National Forest Park,where we can easily find Fork-tailed Sunbird, Slay-backed Forktail, the otherbirds include Rufous Woodpecker, Common Tailorbird, White-necklaced Partridge, SpottedElachura,

Pale-headedWoodpecker,etc. then take the late afternoon flight on day 12 to Shanghai andover night in Shanghai.

 

Day 13 .Departure from Shanghai

 

Take theinternational flight back to home country, back to warm home.
